But yet the price of meds have doubled this year from last year. 401k are only good for taking out loans to make ends meet through the years at 5% interest back to yourself not a bank where you pay them at a higher interest rate. When the market is bad It's better to stay in the aggressive when you're still young so you can recover the money you lost unlike if you change to the moderate you won't gain back as much once the market is good again. It's when you're close to retirement age you have to be careful because when things are bad you can lose a up to a thousand a day bringing you to get out of of the aggressive and into the moderate. By doing this you may save from losing a high amount but you'll never recover the money you lost by being in the moderate. Then if you want to or have to take it all out and close your account, you'll have to pay a penalty tax on top of the 43% tax they will take out automatically.

You dont need a workplace plan to invest for retirement. This is a plan that preys on people who don't understand the basic fundamentals of investing. If a 25 year old invested the same $165/month into an index fund that tracks the S&P, they'll have over $1 million at 65, more than double the $465k he's promising. Ask yourself where the rest of the money went under Trumps IRA plan.
