This hits hard because my partner used to be an addict and it’s like seeing both sides of him. There’s pieces of him whilst he was in active addiction that I do miss, but I very much so prefer the new version he’s made of himself. We’ve grown up together, battled countless addictions and now we’re creating such a beautiful life together, sober. It’s just crazy how music can be interpreted differently for different people going through different things isn’t it?!
