@hvacsavier: When the thermostat won’t cooperate… go straight to the source. 🔧 Bypassed the Honeywell stat by jumping R to Y,G and W at the base to call cooling and verify system operation. Quick way to separate stat vs. equipment issues.
Can you help me with my wiring I can’t get my ac unit to kick on

I replaced my thermostat and it worked for a day. the thermostat calls for cool but it stopped sending the signal. but if bridge red and yellow it turns on the out door unit. but won't do it while hooked to the new thermostat.

Not hating at all serious question, if you do that won’t it not turn on the fan? Just the outdoor unit?

Or use the thermostat's test mode

These thermostats you use E and w2 for heatpump applications, it specifically says do not use W for it (if it’s a Honeywell pro series TH14blahblah) so this would be on a furnace guys. Even if it wasn’t I don’t think it’s that deep. Assuming it is a heat pump/electric in this scenario looks to be jumping to conclusions imo.

It’s a shame you just told people to run electric heat without a fan…. Thank you for the service call and the opportunity to have a laugh at a home owners expense

why not just do it at the air handler? I mean the wiring is already accessible and you don't leave smudged fingerprints all over the customers wall and thermostat... plus you will most likely end up in there anyway

or you can do it all at the AH/Furnace so you can actually see what's happening

if you do it at the unit, you can tell if its a thermostat or unit issue.
