Exactly!!! I get so angry when I hear people say that Latino immigrants don't pay taxes. Studies show that In 2022, undocumented immigrants paid approximately $96.7 billion in combined federal, state, and local taxes.
Federal Tax Contribution: Of that, $59.4 billion was paid to the federal government.
State and Local Tax Contribution: $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.
Payroll Taxes: More than a third of these taxes ($25.7 billion in Social Security and $6.4 billion in Medicare) are paid into programs they are generally barred from accessing.
Contribution Level: The amount paid by undocumented immigrants is higher than the federal income taxes paid by several major corporations, such as Amazon, GM, and41 others.
Per Person Impact: On average, undocumented immigrants pay roughly $8,889 per person in taxes.
Latino Impact: While not all immigrants are Latino, and not all Latinos are immigrants, a significant portion of the undocumented population is from Latin American countries. A 2025 study noted that U.S. Latino immigrants generated $1.6 trillion in GDP in 2023.
