I appreciate this take, but I do wanna be the optimist. The cards of the set are good magic cards, it’s very flavorful for TMNT and I think Ai has made people forget that this artstyle, which in a lot of ways is beautiful, has existed for years and years. I will never hate on someone who has problems with UB sets, but I do think that there is so much ‘yuck your yum’ going on it makes me second guess my own love of both MTG and TMNT.

I would’ve LOVED if they just made it a series of precons and boosters whose only purpose is to collect alt-arts like they used to. I’m still excited as is, but I’d have really loved to see like a Foot Clan deck led by Shredded, the Turtles deck, a Mutant Villains deck led by Bebop and Rocksteady, and then a weird robot deck split between Baxter and Krang.

this set is 🔥 any set gets hype then dies off.... lorwyn sucked honestly had about 20 good cards.... spiderman was actually really good and had hot cards! this set has like 100 very good cards in it... i play magic for the fun snd for the game so i care mostly about playability in the cards! and i mean it is fantasy its ninja turtles they arent real lol... the thing i think thats the real issue is the pace they release sets... take a step back and look at the text in the cards on this set its got very playable cool cards

UB is adding to the growth to new players even and in a few years people will be wanting these cards plus the ninja tribe got a good set of cards too and the sneak mechanic is very good too plus as a kid tmnt was my favorite show as a kid so it's hype for me, I only buy ub sets if I like it, I'm I don't buy into the UB set I don't like

For me I don’t even care about the flavor of UB being off, I care that of the last 3 sets (2 UB, 1 in universe) cards like Doubling season, deflecting swat, deadly rollick, the great henge, sword of hearth and home, commanders plate, and dockside (all cards only usually printed in master sets as of late) have been only put in UB sets. They don’t give af about marketing their own IP anymore and it just screams “we’re selling our IP to the highest bidder” it’s sad to see
