Genuine question, no judgment at all, I love your content. Do the kids not help you clean up their toys in the room? I don’t know their ages and I’m not asking, but it feels like a good lesson so they don’t end up cluttered or hoarding

my parents had my young so my uncles always gave us noisy toys. now they have younger kids and i am able to give them noisy toys. it is awesome!!

I used to teach a daycare class for preschoolers. Most of my kiddos were 3 and 4. When I first started, cleanup was absolute chaos. I simplified a lot (especially play foods & kitchen supplies) and had different color/size bins for the different categories. I started using a 5 minute cleanup timer (I would just search it on YT and it had a yellow fun background) and the kids started making it a fun game to pickup everything before the timer ran out. I wouldn’t pickup for them, but instead would supervise and remind them where certain things went if they needed guidance (“I need a friend to put these pots and pans back in this yellow bin for me” - they figured it out pretty quickly!) I know home is different from school, but something I found helpful was implementing a “pick up that center before going to another center” rule. So if a kid made a big mess with blocks and then finished playing there, they had to put the blocks up before they could move over to the kitchen where they then made a big mess too. I found this helped them not be so overwhelmed when cleanup time came! Of course, they could combine centers for imaginative play, but I would always say a gentle reminder at the beginning of playtime that the bigger the mess they make, the longer it’ll take to clean up. I noticed they started figuring out when it was best to pickup before shifting centers vs leaving a mess to return to later for continued or combined play. Just wanted to share some things that helped me keep my sanity in case any of it resonates with you! 😊

I feel like I haven’t seen your content in ages!!! I just binge watched and I’m thoroughly impressed and so excited for sunlight for you! It absolutely makes a difference. I went from a 4th floor apartment with minimal sunlight to a one story house with tons of windows in the living room. and because I wfh on second shift and have such a messed up sleep schedule I never got to get a ton of sunlight or enjoy outside, but now I literally get to be woken up by sunshine and only have to take a few steps to touch grass 😅 and it’s soooo simple but it makes the biggest difference to my day!

As your kids get older, have them help put things back in place, it really helps them. Also a nightly clean routine is a good habit to get on with them. Just some mom advice! You do amazing btw! Promise not criticism

I have cats and they love to play with my 9 month old daughters push walker. It will go off randomly when we don’t know they are messing with it. Absolutely terrifying 🤣🤣

I got rid of 90% of my kids food toys because they overstimulated me so much with how they’d end up everywhere and it was one of the many toys my kids would dump out just to dump not even to play
