Then I got home to chaos—hurricane-force winds, trees down, damage in the neighborhood. Wild contrast. And it reminded me of something: I forget I’m even running big leverage sometimes. Not because I’m reckless—because I’m regulated. Here’s what makes it possible: 1) Scale is the cheat code. If your account is tiny, 10% is meaningless. If your account is big, 10% is real life. 2) I don’t rely on markets to pay my bills. I still work a job I like. That income covers life. So trading can do what it’s supposed to do: grow wealth, not “feed me monthly.” 3) Nervous system > strategy. Sunlight, sleep, movement, good food, community, my dog— that’s what keeps me calm when numbers swing. If you’re stressed, you’ll sabotage. If you’re regulated, you can let the system run.
