Rapper Lil Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, has filed a new request for pretrial release ahead of his November 4, 2026, bond hearing in Los Angeles federal court. The October 27 filing comes weeks after Durk was acquitted of all charges in his first federal trial involving the August 2022 shooting death of Saviay’a Robinson. Despite that verdict, Durk remains in custody awaiting a second trial on a violent crime in aid of racketeering (VICAR) murder charge, scheduled for August 30, 2027. In an effort to address the concerns that led to his previous bond denial, Durk's attorneys have proposed a financial package that includes his future music royalties, publishing income, name, image and likeness earnings, and touring revenue. The proposal also includes the home where Durk's mother lives, cash and property pledged by friends, and a commitment from Sony Music Entertainment to guarantee an appearance bond of up to $1 million. His attorneys argue that violating his release conditions could leave Durk and his family financially devastated. The filing also includes letters supporting his release from Jay-Z, J. Cole, businessman Michael Rubin, former Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx and others. Perhaps most notably, Andrea Robinson, the mother of Saviay’a Robinson, submitted a letter on behalf of her family stating that they do not object to Durk's release if the court considers it appropriate. Federal prosecutors, however, continue to oppose bond. U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald is scheduled to hear arguments on November 4. The proposed bond package has not yet been approved.
