@letsbetechs: There are lots of hanging gas heaters (like Reznors) found in garages and warehouses. We cover pilot lighting, thermocouple and gas valve functions, and pilot adjustment. Plus, learn how to spot flame disturbances when the fan kicks in and what those signs mean for your unit. Hope this helps! #hvac #hvacapprentice #hvactechnician #hvaclife #hvactroubleshooting
I fixed or cracked heat exchanger once before like that those are easy to welt no reason to scrap the unit in fact I don't get why people don't attempt to fix stuff anymore

The orange in the pilot is due to an oxide buildup on the pilot burner. the fix is to blow some compressed air down the pilot tube to clear out the oxide . it will then burn clean blue . although it's irrelevant on a unit with a bad exchanger .

I find most times those pilot adjustment screws don't work. Love it when they do work😁. depending on the age, we look for cracks before starting. If all looks good, I'll pull out the pilot assembly and blow it out. The pilot orifice gets cruddy especially since those get little maintenance

I have a new 40x40 prefabricated steel building with (3) car bays that we recently built on our property in southern NH. I was debating about putting a couple Reznor propane heating units in the opposite corners of the building but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money doing it since we currently use the building as a garage. How much do you think it would cost for a couple reznor units with installation of gas piping? Also, what caused the heat exchanger on the heating unit to crack?

thats one lazy pilot flame. if it wasn't cracked I would've cleared the pilot tubing. u want it to be like a jet so that it doesn't blow out randomly

that's a candle dude not a pilot . remove pilot and gang it upside down and tap lightly on pilot body and the pilot will be twice the size and you'll actually hear it . it almost always doesn't need to be adjusted

You need to clean the pilot assembly and change the thermocouple. The tip is burnt off.

I shut mine off after winter. No point letting it continually burn my money in the warmer months. I still have a gas range & water heater but my bill drops to under $25 per mo until next winter.

I don't know anything about pilots but that flame looked too high to my layman's eye... also... hahahaha "big crack"
