A delivery that should’ve been simple ended with a woman on the floor and the driver facing a felony charge. It happened in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Rosemary Osorio had ordered a desk and cabinet from Office Depot. When the furniture arrived, she and the delivery driver, 39-year-old Sadiki Washington, reportedly disagreed about where the second piece should be placed. The argument continued, and Osorio refused to sign the delivery receipt. At that point, she apparently wanted the interaction to be over. Surveillance footage shows Osorio standing in her doorway, blocking Washington from coming back into the house. But instead of leaving, Washington pushed his way through the doorway. Osorio was knocked to the floor. She later went to the emergency room following the incident. And then came an explanation that probably raised even more questions. Washington reportedly tried to explain his actions by mentioning that he plays soccer. Yes, soccer. But police clearly didn’t see that as an excuse. Washington was arrested on June 22, 2023, and charged with burglary with assault or battery, a first-degree felony. A Broward County judge declined to set bond. Office Depot later said Washington was not one of its employees. According to the company, he worked for a third-party delivery vendor. As of June 2024, the case was reportedly still making its way through the court system, and Washington had not been convicted.
