hello... my 13yr old had terrible hemiplegic migraines last year until he could no longer go to school, everything sensory would trigger him. endless specialists, ER visits and hospital stays. meds made everything worse and induced seizures! but eventually he started craniosacral therapy and acupuncture and his sensitivity is down. maybe 2 or 3 migraines a month now. almost back to a normal life! good luck with your journey

I smell burning bread and then also the smell of rotting garbage in the night. In the morning, the smells aren't there.

I have chronic hemiplegic migraines and the first few terrified me but I've learned skills and coping mechanisms to manage now, decades later. I go from being so articulate to not being able to speak and drooling.... so fast.

I experienced hemiplegic migraines about 3 years ago. I remember half my body was numb. I remember I couldn't even walk because one of my legs felt like a rock. I also remember the slurred speech and the brain fog. I don't get these anymore but still get vestibular migraines.

I have a neurology appointment to hopefully confirm hemiplegic migraine is what I experienced about a month ago. I presented at the ER with stroke like symptoms but stroke and TIA have been ruled out. I had one sided body weakness, blurry vision, unsteady walking and my face was drooping on the same side as my body weakness. For two or three days before that I’d had an aura migraine (which I have all the time) that wouldn’t go away. And when I woke up the day of the ER trip (and subsequent hospital stay) the entire right side of my face was swollen (saw my primary for that morning for that…she said sinus infection). I don’t know if that may have actually been part of a possible hemiplegic migraine or if my body really just hated me that day. The dr at the hospital said the face droopiness was actually Bells Palsy 🤷🏼‍♀️I just want answers…I’ve never had anything but aura migraines before.

🤚 meee… wish I wasn’t raising my hand for this… because it’s awful. Had one in the fall and it took me 2 1/2 months to recover and get feeling back. My nervous system is sooo sensitive.!

I have endometriosis and I was having a flare, vomiting, intense pain, vertigo, the works.... I went to sleep and woke up with symptoms, mild vestibular issues, had those for 5 days then my face went numb and I'm like "well shit, that's probably not good". got to the hospital and I couldn't remember things, aphasia, loss of balance, weakness in my left side, fine motor skills were gone, intense pressure through my face.... stayed 4 days because they thought I was stroking out, I discharged myself because if I was stroking it would've happened that night or the next day. Went to neurologist and yep, severe migraine, hemiplegic for 10 days before she gave me pills to stop it. My whole nervous system got messed up after too, I'm still recovering from it months later, my nervous system is coming back very slowly. IT WAS HELL.
