I listened on audiobook. Absolutely riveting. The way Belle describes her pain just took me out. I can so relate. Instead of slivering away as the jilted woman she told the most harrowing truth about what really happened. 10/10.

This resonated with me. My husband left in March of 2022. He still calls it amicable, but I’ve never lied about him walking out. He thought I would be embarrassed to admit our 35 year marriage failed. I told him I can work through my issues in therapy but I have nothing to be ashamed of.

Funny.. my husband in 3/2020 did same. I never agreed that it was amicable. He just left...I didn't know why either. They just want to feel ok with their decision. Good thing..I am ok almost 6 years later.

My husband wanted me to do the same but I refused. I’d found out years before he’d been having an affair with someone at his work but he swore it was over and I tried my absolute best to try a save our marriage for our children. During that time I didn’t tell anyone what he did and it was awful, I felt so unhappy but I kept it all to myself. It turns out it was never over and when he decided to leave he wanted me to tell everyone that it was amicable. I told him no. I had kept it a secret when we were together but now that we weren’t I wasn’t going to keep it a secret any longer. I needed the support from my friends and family.

When I left my husband of 19 years I didn’t tell anyone but my best friend and my sister. Not anybody I worked with. Not anyone. And when I see mutuals in town I don’t say a word. I want to explain how awful he was to me, but it’s pointless. I’ve moved on.
