This does not apply to all cultures. In Poland and other Slavic countries, there is a social class called the "intelligentsia". This is the term used to describe the intellectual elite, which has just sacrificed a lot for education and gaining cultural capital. This class has symbolic supremacy and the highest recognition in society, although members of the intelligentsia do not have to be wealthy. A professor who earns as much as a skilled worker has a higher social status than a millionaire. That is why in Slavic countries, rich people often buy diplomas from random universities, just to be able to boast of a master's or doctoral degree.

This is also interestingly different between countries, I thought I grew up fairly working class in Finland with a hairdresser mum and a factory worker dad but because quite a lot of people in Finland own land and summer houses and lakes now since I’ve moved to the UK I accidentally keep referring to things like “our summer house” or “our lake at our summer house” and people instantly treat me differently in the UK.

One thing I learned is to not say things I was not asked to. When someone compliments my clothes, my English or my Italian, I just say "thank you" . I never say how much things cost or how I learned other languages. Just take the compliment, no explanations

it's curious to think that being is better than becoming. if somebody whose first language isn't English spoke just as or better than a native, that's more impressive. how can it not? well because if you paid attention to all of these videos, the other class determined it so. English is a great example because no matter how you try to justify "oh my parents were white Americans" it will never elevate the status. so not only is being important but you have to be the right country from the start. French is bougie. Spanish is not, if it is Mexican or s. American. but Spain Spanish? that's suddenly bougie. no rhyme and reason if you were nihilistic, but completely sensible if you bought into the fiction

I like your content very much. Today, on the day of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s disgraceful arrest, we should remind ourselves where status and privilege can lead people who were given everything “on a silver plate” and never had to make any effort in their lives because everything was provided to them from the very beginning. We should not feel inferior simply because we strive to learn, improve ourselves, and rise above the circumstances we were born into. Rather, we should be proud of ourselves. I believe this is the life story of many people around the world. Why do we always feel the need to revere the elites? Maybe it’s time to hold them accountable and expect more from them than contempt for the masses?

Great series of videos you’ve done. Lifting the veil of the BS of these types of circles is important so that everyone can get back to the business of living and enjoying their lives without aspiring to be in these crowds or trying to spend their lives chasing these things to no avail. I’ve spent time around some “billionaires” and there’s nothing mystical there. Yes, they may have a lot of access but generally speaking, they are fairly amoral, and often unattractive both inside and out. Old money friends with their families’ last names on buildings at universities often make fun of how insane old family members were and behaved. Being confident in yourself, having self respect, and being a good human to others is way classier than any home, yacht, or car you could obtain. Don’t waste your energy. Do what you like because you actually like it and not because it might get you somewhere.
