Claiming that the person I dislike most would be me if I were in their exact circumstances is... determinism. So if you believe me nor that person has any agency, wouldn't you believe that there were never any doors to begin with? That choice never mattered? Seems contradictory to the claims you started with, about needing a compass in the first place. I was always going to do the choice I ultimately do. Yet I believe my choice matters, that being at least a little cognizant of my choices will lead me to a more ethical and fulfilling life than without it.

ego death is abstract and just a theory. In reality the your ego comes back everytime you HAVE TO: breathe, eat, drink, pee etc. so yes choices are makeable for an uncertain amount of time the you could feel free from Instinctives. so it impossible to perform a ego death for ever... leave it just: do be do be do

I get what you’re saying, but if am ‘the worst person’ who grew up in the same environment. How are you going to explain nature vs nurture? Not everyone responds the same to exactly same situations. People perceive things differently. Babies simply have different inherited qualities and personalities in them. Yes, nurture helps decide what continues to develop, but it still wouldn’t be the same?

I feel there's a lot of wiggle room for interpretation, and love maybe is not the best word to describe what I belive was the point being conveyed. What I see from this interpretation of life, and its ocurrances, is not the fact that you are determined by your circumstances (we are, we are fundamentaly a sistema writen on expiriences), but your capability of accepting this fact and recognising yourself as not an absolute, being able to recognise your agency dispite the presence of the contrary. What I mean by this, is that, maybe, what this insightful woman was communicating is the fact that, by recognising the possibility of ourselves in the skin of the other, we are capable of choosing life without fear of loosing our peace or completion for there is no life lesser than the other, we do not judge nor condemn. This allows us to take desisions not ruled by fear or hatred, but, by the understanding we have on ourselves and each other.
