I saw in a Scientific American video that although they are considered to be blind, they have actually been filmed reacting to light. So their eye tissue is being studied to understand how such old animals still have properly working eye tissue and as eyes are the first organs to weaken with age, so maybe if their secrets are revealed then it could be beneficial for treating human eyes too.
