She cannot fire the police chief plus they have union reps and other protections. To me this looks racially profiled if you look at the denomination of who is still employed versus, who’s not I see a lawsuit coming soon and possible jail time for the mayor.

Chiefs are not elected they are appointed by the city Manger if your city is using the city manager process, if not then then all dept heads work for the Mayor, The Sheriff is elected and can be removed by the courts.

Our school system gives us one semester of government for our entire duration of school. Judging by these comments, that wasn’t enough for some. More people need to be involved in the local government and understand how it works.
