@legengsofthepast: The Dead Sea Scrolls Discovered in 1947 in caves near Qumran along the shores of the Dead Sea, the Dead Sea Scrolls are among the most important archaeological finds of the 20th century. Hidden for nearly 2,000 years inside clay jars, these ancient manuscripts include some of the oldest known copies of Hebrew Bible texts, along with religious writings and community rules from a Jewish sect that lived in the region. Written mainly in Hebrew, with some texts in Aramaic and Greek, the scrolls provide rare insight into religious life during the Second Temple period. They have helped scholars better understand the historical context of early Judaism and the world in which Christianity later emerged. Today, many of the scrolls are preserved and studied by researchers, offering a remarkable connection to the spiritual and cultural history of the ancient Middle East. #WorldHistory #AncientManuscripts #Archaeology #DeadSeaScrolls #HistoricalDiscovery
