Let’s be honest here, BOTH sides have been heavily racist to each other, and it comes from the heavy lack of education of each other, bias of all types is a very human trait when you lack the knowledge and understanding of how to properly handle that other people have different norms, cultural behaviors, and beliefs (religion can also be a big barrier as no one wants to accept each others religion is valid). Racism against black people inflicted by East Asian people is generally due to/ stems from limited exposure (both physically and in an educational sense) and imported Western stereotypes/misrepresentations. And that being said these would mostly be East Asian people who don’t live in America, and don’t have the same kind of in real life exposure/experience to black people and culture. Racism against East Asians inflicted by black people is generally due to/stems from the same imported western negative-stereotypes and lack of cross-cultural understanding, which often creates misconceptions and bias. Let’s not forget though that there is a very real reason why black people in America had and still struggle with a lack of education. The horrors and trauma inflicted upon black people over history ends up showing in their dysfunctions, and I’m not saying “oh bad on them”, no I’m saying, I understand why there would be racial biases and misinformation, as the US has pumped misinformation and propaganda to force your race into “submission”, leave them so traumatized, uneducated and oppressed that they’ll never catch up to the white. But the fact is they failed, miserably, as we see black folk get their essential rights, and gain access to all sorts of education. Although that does not mean that trauma and dysfunction just disappears, it still shows up in the poorest and least educated communities in America (more specifically in the US). Back to the main topic, another reason is due to the model minority myth that stems from 1960s US media, basically it was used to argue that if one minority group “succeeded” through conformity, other minority groups (specifically African Americans) should be able to do the same.
