Authorities in San Antonio say a woman accused of driving under the influence plowed through an active crash investigation Friday night, running over the body of a man who had already been killed in an earlier collision. Tionne Spears, 26, is facing charges of driving while intoxicated, abuse of a corpse and possession of a controlled substance. The incident unfolded along State Highway 211 near Lambada Drive, according to Javier Salazar. Investigators said a 61-year-old pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway was first struck by a vehicle’s side mirror, which knocked him onto the pavement. Moments later, a second motorist was unable to stop in time and ran over the man, who died at the scene. Authorities have indicated they do not suspect criminal wrongdoing by either of those drivers. Deputies secured the area and covered the victim’s body while conducting their investigation. During that process, a third vehicle approached at high speed and entered the taped-off scene. Officials allege the driver, later identified as Spears, drove over the victim’s body and came dangerously close to striking deputies working the crash site. Spears was arrested at the scene. Investigators believe she was under the influence of khat, a stimulant plant native to East Africa that authorities say can produce heightened confidence and reduced sensitivity to pain. Sheriff Salazar noted the substance was portrayed in the film Black Hawk Down. “Thankfully our investigators were not hurt,” Salazar said, adding that it was distressing the victim’s body was disturbed during the chaotic incident. Spears was booked into the Bexar County Jail and later released after posting a $14,100 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 30.#fyp #viral

A welfare check on a woman led to the discovery of 14 d3ad dogs in a feces-covered home, including some found in the freezer & refrigerator. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia received a phone call from a woman who said she hadn’t seen her neighbor, Margaret Nevils, at her Grovetown home since October 2023. Deputies went to the home & looked into a window with the blinds partially pulled up & saw the floor was covered with feces. An emaciated pit bull ran up to the window. A deputy knocked on the door & rang the doorbell but no one came to the door. The deputy went around back & looked through a window into the kitchen which showed the floor was also covered in feces. The dogs had apparently chewed holes through the walls in the kitchen & garage. Nevils’ phone went straight to voicemail when deputies called. Cops forced their way into the back door. After an animal services officer captured the pit bull, deputies went inside. What they found was stomach-churning: 3 dogs were found d3ad in the bedroom, 3 were in the refrigerator & 1 was in the freezer. There were also 7 d3ad puppies throughout the house. All the dogs were in various states of decomposition. The deputy saw a side-by-side refrigerator-freezer & “noticed that bl00d was seeping from the freezer section of the refrigerator,”. “I opened the freezer door & saw a black trash bag with an animal foot sticking out,” the deputy stated. There were also multiple empty dog cages. The home’s furniture was shredded. Major Steve Morris said that detectives located Nevils, 41, at her workplace. According to Morris, Nevils told investigators she was running an adoption & dog rescue service but became overwhelmed & decided to leave the dogs behind. Deputies arrested Nevils on an animal cruelty charge & took her to the Columbia County Jail where she has since posted a $5,000 bond. Morris said the surviving pit bull is with animal care officials & is expected to make a full recovery. #truecrimecommunity #truecrime #crimetiktok #crimejunkie #truecrimetiktok #crimetok #crime #truecrimeaddicted #truecrimepodcast

A Texas judge has rejected Karmelo Anthony’s request for a new trial, leaving his murder conviction and 35-year prison sentence in place for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. Judge Michael Chitty issued the ruling Saturday following an extended hearing that continued into Friday evening. Anthony was convicted earlier this summer after a Collin County jury rejected his claim of self-defense and found him guilty of intentionally stabbing Metcalf during an altercation at a Frisco ISD track meet in April 2025. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said prosecutors expected the ruling and remain confident in the jury’s verdict. Anthony’s attorney, Russell Wilson, said the defense strongly disagrees and intends to take the case to the Fifth Court of Appeals while pursuing other available legal options. The hearing also revealed new details about how Anthony’s original trial was handled. Former trial attorney Toby Shook testified that Anthony had initially planned to testify in his own defense but ultimately did not take the stand. The defense argued that unusual restrictions and private agreements surrounding the trial contributed to that decision and prevented Anthony from receiving a fair proceeding. Prosecutors disputed that characterization, arguing that heightened security measures and courtroom restrictions were necessary because of threats, misinformation and intense public attention surrounding the case. The proceedings also brought previously undisclosed allegations concerning the backgrounds of both Anthony and Metcalf into public view. According to CBS News Texas, court records contained allegations involving bullying, assault and racial slurs concerning Metcalf and his twin brother, while information presented about Anthony included allegations of threatening messages, stalking and assault. With the request for a new trial denied, Anthony’s conviction remains intact, but his attorneys say the legal fight is not over as they prepare to continue the case through the appeals process.#fyp #viral
