You have to cut and flip the wires. The led has different polarity.

Mango 🇵🇷 :
you need a resistor since your wiring set up is meant to use incandescent. until then it wont work.

I added one on mine and it works. you have a junk bulb or something.

Upgrading the 1996 Chevy Silverado under-hood light to LED involves replacing the factory 1156 incandescent bulb with a 6000K LED bulb, or replacing the entire housing with a modern 3W-5W LED assembly

have you considered that the bulb is no good?

You need to flip the polarity in the wires

It might need resistance to make the bulb work

It's a cheap bulb and doesnt habe the proper resistance

been there done this gm wired those backwards so the center terminal was ground and the outside was positive had to swap the terminals around in the plug to make it work

Have you tried that bulb somewhere else? Just to make sure it’s a good one

This gon sound like sum bs but they do use less power so you’ll need to wire in a resistor to restrict all the power so LED lights up

installing load resistors CANbus/Error Codes: Trucks often check for resistance to see if a bulb is burned out. Because LEDs draw less power, the truck thinks they are broken and cuts power. You may need LEDs with built-in resistors or add a separate resistor.
