Exactly this. I’d feel so resentful of my husband that all he has to do is get off once and I have to suffer for a least a year with pregnancy, labor, postpartum and it’s not socially acceptable for the kid to have my last name. I hate the whole “we’re pregnant!”, no the woman’s pregnant, the man can just dip anytime he wants. It’s not fair at all the stuff that women have to go through just to have a kid while the man doesn’t do shit.😭

People have watered down how incredibly expensive and sacrificial pregnancy is on women. They’ve also watered down how spectacular of a thing it is to create an organism that literally feeds on you. Lack of appreciation with anything usually leads to resentment.

I would be so resentful of losing my identity to motherhood. There's plenty who say "Oh but you can still be you" in this society, to be honest, no you really cant. it's basically a requirement that you align with being a mother, and your world revolves around it, at least for the first several years, if not longer.
