At the place of Masjid al-Areesh, a simple palm-branch shelter was once built for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during the Battle of Badr, where he raised his hands in intense dua, seeking Allah’s help with complete trust and humility. Not far from there is Jabal Malaikah (the Mountain of Angels), remembered in Islamic tradition as the area connected with the descent of angels who supported the believers in their moment of difficulty.
