not sure if I believe that cover story. it sounds like they tested the waters with an AI ad, and had an out in case their community responded too poorly to it. especially with not posting it online, what difference does it make? an AI commercial doesn't have to be saved for any reason, it's essentially disposable. there wasn't any hard work that went into making it, so why bother.

Kind of feels like a shrodinger esque testing the waters thing. If it goes well, my guess is they would have said ‘okay we’re gonna do more of this’. If it doesn’t, they have this ‘ironic take’ in the chamber to get ahead of it. I have no empirical proof of this tbf
