@anas.maazouz8: Dark Side of Korean Miracle #southkorea #southkorea🇰🇷 #southkorean #explaining #explainthis #explainer #explained #southkoreatravel #darkside
This is definitely not the fault of Southeast Asia. It seems that our country's people are wrong. Honestly, we didn't keep the performance, and it seems like our big mistake to belittle and mock it. I really like Southeast Asia and I also like Vietnam. Please don't hate me, and please don't belittle me. I'm begging you🙏🤝❤️

I can understand the Southeast Asian perspective, too. Someone might have genuinely loved Korea through K-dramas or K-pop—admiring a singer or actor they felt close to. But the moment they start to wonder, even for a second, “What if that person sees my country as backward, or looks down on us as monkeys?” that affection can flip into intense anger—and leave a deep wound.
This has made me realize, painfully, that the global rise of K-culture isn’t pure upside. When a culture becomes highly visible worldwide, the impact of disrespect—whether real or perceived—gets amplified. And the disappointment hurts more precisely because the admiration was once sincere.
