"The Prototype is a kid!" He's not exactly. WAIT BEFORE YOU THROW TOMATOES.. just read. the Prototype dosen't even look human to start with. Also he was created somewhere in the 80's-90's so he's not exactly a child. Neither mentally or physically. But, it isn't really measurable in human terms cuz he's certanly not a human anymore . He obviously grew up in an abusive environment and became an extremist, immature, and a bad "person". Something that was bound to happen. It's not a case like Shadow, for example, who's about 50 years old, but was asleep for 90% of that time. The Prototype has been conscious and awake for decades, forming a personality and ideology specific to human development, which a child certainly wouldn't have until growing . Their minds still function like those of a human. That's why things like the Hour of Joy happened. They have every capacity to develop as normal humans, to reach conclusions, to think, to form a personality and ideology, and the entire process of human development that occurs naturally over time, regardless of whether their environment is healthy or not. Their bodies may not age, which doesn't really matter because they're not even remotely human anymore. It makes no sense that they are incapable of aging mentally. If their minds were limited, even partially, they wouldn't have been able to do half of what they did in the past. They cannot be children anymore it's just, not logical, at all . They díd certanly grew up, but I also think that their development, obviously, was not normal. I wouldn't say they are children, but they are not functional adults either, and that's what many people forget. Growing up in a traumatic environment can affect development: age regression, Immaturity, childish behavior, doesn't mean they aren't adults anymore, but some toys surely developed extreme defense mechanisms to survive and compensate the trauma. Each toy could be a completely different, complex psychological case.
