It’s called “pity marketing” and once you learn to recognize it you never fall for it again. Would be interested to see your thoughts on the actual product itself! What did you think of the glass?

I bought some cool goblets off AliExpress 3 years ago. Just saw them on here with a sob story saying her grandpa just made them and no one buys them. They are all over Ali with hundreds of different sellers selling them for years.

I hate that they take real video of people who don't know they are being used. I would hate for my face to be associated with a business I have no clue about. Years ago, I posted my dad for his bday on reddit and I mentioned his accomplishments. A couple of months ago, I went on forum and someone posted my dad and changed the description a little and had their own story added. It was wild. I went to the comments and someone said it was posted so many times and I just saw this one.

Yes it’s pity marketing. BUT yes Disney will sue for using the Disney characters in the advertising for the glasses. If you use their characters in any way shape or form in any way that even leads to you making money they can sue.

Police officers perform civil service all the time. Most departments even have a civil service department. That being said, the “company” still sounds suspicious.

Such a great example of how poor our media literacy is. I’ve seen so many ppl harassing commenters who call these ppl out bc they believe the stories and refuse to even consider it’s a scam
