He’s the main story and pivotal. But one could argue that Palpatine was not relying on Anakin to dominate the galaxy thru the Galactic Empire. In fact, he didn’t necessarily need him. He could have engineered the Jedi purge in other ways. Also the balancing of the force doesn’t happen without the Rebel Alliance. We see that in many ways in Andor, the sacrifices they make as opposed to someone like Han Solo, who cowboys his way thru A New Hope. We don’t see how the entire saga is supported by heroic individuals who don’t have lightsabers or Jedi friends.

that's a really interesting take and yes Anakin has a serious hold on the series however the most important characters in the series are R2D2 and C3PO the history of everything that happens is seen through The eyes of those two droids and our two hasn't had a memory wipe since she was a repair Droid for naboo and 3PO maybe has never had a memory wipe I don't know all the Canon but I don't recall him getting one that least stuck in fact in one of the kids cartoons are too gave him back his memory oh that's right they did wipe his memory at the end of episode 3 but aren't you kept it back up and gave it back to him in the droids cartoon so no the entire movie is seen through The eyes in the story is told through The eyes of r2d23c3po
