Winter air where you are is very dry; ergo, firewood dries - even with lower temperatures.

if trees are cut in fall or winter it will dry faster as well because the sap is mainly in the root system

It drys alot better if you store it in a woodshed and not leave it exposed to the snow and elements.

soak clothes in water. let it freeze and stand them up. the water evaporates while frozen and the frozen statue you made will be a pile dry clothes in the end.
