ER Doc complained to us about 2 of our CT Scanners being down.
"Welp, stop ordering CT Scans for everything and talk to your boss to update our machines!"

The oncology waiting room bit is also dead on. Worked in a NICU for 8 years. Oncology was completely renovated TWICE. We had the same hand me down furniture from PICU for our parents and in the staff lounge, despite the fact that we were the only department that actually brought in money.

Not the 250k water feature🤦♀️. The one that makes it smell like a public pool and raises the humidity.

i worked for a hospital group that spent millions on a new lobby, including a waterfall wall... 10 years later, they've closed down L&D, Peds & Psych to save money😳

Red Crow Speaks :
patient "satisfaction" and patient outcomes are not linked, in fact a nursing study was done showing the higher the satisfaction the lower the patient outcome

Our hospital ED routinely sees patients in the hallways. They just got a grant to enlarge the ED… this way MORE patients can wait super long hours before being seen.

And not to mention chronic conditions can’t be managed by specialist if it takes 8 months to get in to see them, so they keep coming back to the ER, or if the specialist can see them but they want $300 up front (insurance dependent of course), or if they don’t have transportation to go to these visits so they get sick again and call an ambulance. Due to EMTALA ERs are required to see everyone regardless of pay and don’t make people pay up front if they can’t afford it. The healthcare system has set up the ERs to fail.
