I mean….its not wrong but it’s also not far off for someone to be prescribed these medications with bipolar disorder. Mirtazapine and Prozac are antidepressants less likely to cause mania in ppl with bipolar disorder. But Zoloft and buspirone def can. It’s such a sad sad situation. I wonder who the prescriber was

If the situation is dire. For example, A person is going to their provider and saying “I am having thoughts to blank blank my kids, I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I can’t leave my babies because my husband works and we don’t have help” you try to help that person as fast as you can and as safe as you can. You get 30min-1hour a visit to get as much info as you can. It is normal for dx to change the more information you get (or the longer you work with a person). More people are straying away from bipolar because it has been over diagnosed in the past.
