UT Arlington is a great school. Everyone i went to school with works with big tech (Google, MS, Apple etc), big 4 (Deloitte, KPMG, EY and pwc) or in big consulting firms ( Bain, BCG or Mckinsley). Everywhere i interview or work at has a UTA grad, manager or director. It’s not as boring as UTD or as trash as UNT. It’s also cheaper than SMU or TCU. It’s the best overall in DFW. But some respect on it name. But yes, it is a volume school so a lot of people get in and drop out.

Texas Tech is up standards this year and it’s pretty automatic that you at least have a 3.7 but not easy for everyone. There are steps now. Its rankings and engineering and business school are very high, so those schools are more challenging to get into versus education. Texas Tech also has a lot of scholarship opportunities and also waves out of state tuition if you have a private scholarship for more than $1000 and you’re not bordering State.
