I know this seems like a bit much but every day I feel like someone is mocking our intelligence. Because why? Why as a college that is known for its architecture program and kinesiology program (outside of agriculture and vet school) this bad? Not to mention the black you see on the limestone can literally be treated!!!! We learned this in our chemistry class last year as we did a lab on what weather does to different elements from copper to limestone. Limestone is the Manhattan stone. You mean to tell me not one student has brought it to anyone’s awarenesss that the black portions on the stone can be treated through either pressure washing, soft washing, or using biocides. It’ll be about 13,000k and more but a school that charges about 10-15k per student per semester is roughly about 500 million a year. It’s better than allowing the weather to destroy the stone which can eventually crumble over time to the point the whole building would need remodeled especially if it caves on itself when students are around which is an even larger payout. You can also utilize a sealant to protect the stone along with strengthen it with a calcium oxalate. I’ll find my paper from chemistry last year that literally stated exactly what happens to limestone due to weathering. It isn’t looking like the investment is worth the payout. Is this all a joke? Is someone fucking with us college students to make it seem like: “You can get a degree but it doesn’t buy common sense or intelligence.” Because I feel like that’s going on or that the wrong people are in charge so things to maintain longetivty and integrity aren’t getting done. This is what I mean by it’s seems like someone wanted a spot so badly but had no clue all that spot entailed. That they just wanted to get where they were going (like running this town per say) but actually lacks the capabilities to keep things afloat which will cost an even bigger investment. Also, these are the students you are sending out into the world? You mean to tell me nobody has said anything? How can you use limestone but not know how to treat it in a design? Is that not number one in remodeling or designing a structure is the maintenance it’ll require to protect its integrity and longevity? Anywho. I’m just a pre-med/biophysics student. #kansas #kstate #foryoupage #biophysics #chemistry

Passing the German B1 exam is no small feat, but doing it through self-study while raising a family is proof that with enough passion and hard work, anything is possible! 💪✨For about six months, I really wanted to learn German, but attending a traditional language school (Sprachschule) simply wasn't an option for me. I had two major roadblocks:👶 Two toddlers: I have two beautiful children under the age of three who needed my constant care.💶 The high cost: Standard integration courses last around 9 months and cost nearly €300 per month, which was a huge financial commitment. The real turning point came when both of my babies finally started kindergarten. 🎒 With the kids in school, I dedicated myself full-time to an intensive, two-month study sprint. Since I was studying on my own, I designed a customized, targeted approach for each language skill:📺 Grammar & Listening: I relied heavily on YouTube videos, which allowed me to pause, rewind, and learn at my own pace.🤖 Writing: I used ChatGPT as my personal AI tutor to practice writing letters and essays, getting instant corrections.📚 Reading: I borrowed official course books from a friend who had attended a language school, ensuring I covered the right exam material.🗣️ Speaking (Sprechen): For the presentation and Gemeinsame Planung parts, I made a list of the most common exam themes. My husband and I then simulated the exact exam format together until I felt confident. While self-study can never fully replace the structured environment of a classroom, it is infinitely better than sitting idle and letting time slip away. ⏳To all my fellow girls and moms out there who want to learn by themselves: you can do this! 💖 It won't be easy, but if you bring hard work, deep passion, and dedicated time, you will succeed. Best of luck! 🍀 #lifeingermany #forupage #desi #deutschlernen #vlogs
