PLEASE READ. This is a great drink that has been made for many generations in the Northern Appalachian regions. But people should be aware that it's done with WHITE PINE needles. Many other pine varieties are toxic, and should not be used.

leaves of three, leave them be! applies to pine needles too. the edible kind has 5 needles in a bunch, toxic needles have 3 in a bunch. Eastern white pine is safe! if you only have toxic pine, don't eat it, but you can use it in cleaners
