@emilyyydavis___: I’m not going to lie, the past few days have been really hard. Even 5 months postpartum and I am emotional all the time over a birth that I didn’t get to have. I had an unexpected c-section after laboring all day because our little one was larger than most. 🫶🏼 Our baby is so healthy and we have so much to be thankful for, but I am reminded daily when looking at my scar, of the trauma we went through. As c-section mamas we often feel the need to be stronger on the outside and mask our feelings and pain. I’m not sure why that is considering we just endured a major surgery while wide awake. But I just want other moms to know that it’s ok to grieve the birth you had hoped and longed for. This past week I have been more tired physically and emotionally than I have been in the past year. Sometimes I don’t even recognize myself if I’m honest. But even through all of that emotion and pain, I’m shown through this little child of the goodness that God has for us. His plan is better than anything we could have imagined. We are allowed to grieve, but let this also be a reminder to take that grief and turn it into something positive. Better yourself and become stronger than you ever thought you could. Prepare yourself physically and mentally for a second chance, Lord willing 🤍 you are so strong and do not think of yourself as less than because you are a c-section mama 🥺 #csectionmom#csection#postpartum #surgery #birth

I went thru 19+ hours of labor just to end up needing a c section. My spinal was done too high and numbed my diaphragm so I lost the ability to breath and was put under🫩💔

Had an emergency with my daughter 5 years ago, fought so hard to try and do a VBAC this time but my sweet boy won’t move out of a breech position. They decided last week to do a csection since he won’t flip and I’m 38 weeks. I am devastated and so scared of having another c section but it is what it is I guess.

Oh man I felt this. My first ended in a c section after laboring for 20 hours with next to zero progress, I was devastated for a long time. My second 8 years later was a vbac, and while I am happy I got to experience that i think it was a much rougher recovery for me and post partum was so difficult for me after the vbac. There’s no good way to have a baby I found out lol

Going in on Monday for it. Feels so robbed of the natural birth I wanted and already depressed and disassociating. No support from his family or my husband. Keep being told “oh you’re getting the easy way out and won’t have pain at least” “at least healthy mom healthy baby” etc. Bawl my eyes out every time.

It’s been 3 years and the thing I most grieve is not being able to hold my son because we had an emergency c-section and he was only 30wk and had to be rushed to get oxygen. Grieve as long as you need♥️

I tried to push but had no progress with my son coming out so I had to get a c section, I didn’t get to feel that instant connection with my son and I fee so guilty. On top of that I had a mother in law from hell who made my labor worse since she felt entitled to enter my room

I could not agree more. It comes in waves- the feeling when they said “we have to do a C-section and we have to do it NOW.” When they rushed me into a room and all the nurses at the nurses station just looked at me with sympathy in their eyes, the way my husbands hands shook as he held my head, the rushing to get me onto the table and get started, the healing process after. It’ll never leave me.

My induction failed so I had a C-section. Baby was born with respiratory distress and immediately was taken to NICU. They didn’t even show her to me over the curtain. I ended up seeing her about 6 hours later. It was tough.

My first I had an emergency c section at 31 weeks in 2024. I just had my second naturally at 37 weeks. It was beautiful. But I still grieve my first birth experience because it was not what I wanted at all :(

I didn’t have a C-section but I can relate to this so much. It’s traumatic when things take a 360 you thought weren’t going to happen.

Same situation with my 10lber after laboring for over 24 hours and getting to 9cm.. so grateful that my baby is here & healthy, but this is a nice reminder that we aren’t alone in these feelings and it’s ok to feel sad about not getting the experience you wanted 💙

I feel you mama! I grieved it so bad a first time mom. It’s crazy because I literally did no research on a C-section or even thought about it until after I had my first. 😭 Especially because they say when you are young there is fewer complications…. never thought to think about it once but it doesn’t matter how much you take care of yourself…You never know how your baby is doing inside the womb. But at the end what matters is that your baby is safe. 🩵

It was such a sad and scary realization that I wasn’t going to get to have my twins the way I wanted. Being rushed into a c section and being alone was terrifying. I’m thankful my mom made it just in time, but before that I was completely alone. I cried from fear and because I truly didnt want to have a c section. I’m still so sad about it.
