@gluteguy: I think this is the biggest limiter of progress - effort. Beginners tend to stop the set the second they feel uncomfortable. failure isn't necessary for strength. hypertrophy yes. but strength training involves stopping with some reps in the tank. it is very effective for longevity and minimizing injury risk

Theyre both going to contribute to building muscle, as mechanical tension is still a factor in both of them. However, increasing the weight you lift and going for lower reps is more beneficial for hypertrophy so it's technically better. But you're still probably going to build muscle either way

Question for you. Form vs failure. Is it better or Okay to loose form pushing for the last rep or 2 when you reach failure? Some say keeping form is better and should lower weight to keep the form, others say train to failure, try to keep form but don’t worry about form as much as pushing to failure.

Fatigue is that it is just burning until it hurts too much to keep going but you could if you liked the pain 😅. Failure is that no matter how much you attempt to push through you literally cannot move the muscle beyond that point. Dips are one of the few that I genuinely go to failure on because it’s easy to bail. It just gets to a point where my elbow just won’t open any further 😅 that’s failure.

I feel like I have really accidentally injured myself trying to hit failure though. 😭 i am hypermobile so it can be hard to know what the right thing is as my body doesnt take weight training easily.

As someone currently recovering from injury, take some time to work up to lifting heavy to failure. Make sure you warm up properly and ensure you have proper form.

What if you’re doing circuit? Meaning you do the bicep curl u do 10 and there you feel the burn and can’t do any more.. then you pass to other exercise and then another, rest and go back to bicep curl and you are able to do again 10. Since I was able to do those other 10, it means I didnt reach failure? I’m so consumed

after my any weight workout i am extremlu sore for 3-4 days... i don't know what to do about it since it the pain also effect my work in bad way... i do 1 day leg day, 2 day cardio, 3 day rest, 4day upper body, 5 day cardio, 6 day whole body, 7 day rest. Also i do cardio after workout
