Indigenous languages should be taught at high schools instead of French or Italian

It seems the hate speech and anti discrimination laws don’t apply to politicians.

why can't we have native languages taught in schools and factual Australian history. I'm all for it.

im an indigenous man. this is divisive. the left talks about being inclusive but we put up signs that only a small percentage of the population would understand. not just white people, it includes everyone. its wrong.

I don't understand why public schools are teaching a foreign language to students and not the local First Nations language instead 🤔

how does including indigenous languages in anyway take from the history of this land? It's literally part of our history.

My great great grandfather was the last fluent speaker of Wemba Wemba. He took part in making a dictionary, I have read. I hate that this was something taken away from us. I love that it is being taught now in schools etc. But generations missed out. To white wash us. it's unfair, other cultures get their languages. And this is part of the generational trauma

If he doesn’t know what it means he should show some curiosity and go and find out. That’s how conversations, connections, and understanding begin.

One of the schools my kids went to there classroom names was in the area's Indigenous language. As was their daycare centers name. There are names of towns and suburbs in Indigenous languages.

Werte from the NT! We now have signs under some of our street signs in language 🥹 not even our local government has done it, just wholehearted people that want to help keep our roots 🥰
