It is very real. And very unfortunate. Postpartum psychosis is very dangerous and should be taken very seriously. The woman’s body goes through so much bringing life into this world but the aftermath of what it does to her brain is CRAZY!! And should be studied more

Personally, I'm tired of the fathers not getting charged with something too. Just like with Rusty Yates, Lindsay's husband was told not to leave her alone with the kids under any circumstances... and he did it anyway. It's a real, true, dangerous thing.

I’ve seen it on FB, but did you know she literally planned it, it was pre meditated. So for me, the psychosis excuse is invalid.

It’s real, I survived it. It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever been through.

I had ppd and ppa and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. It was absolute hell on earth. I was so scared I would turn into her. I have so much empathy for her.

I first learned about PP from a documentary in the UK. It was the husband who noticed the moms changed & very odd behavior. Doctors in the UK questioned why the US doesnt study it nor take it serious. Just spoke to a friend last night on how people as a whole doesnt realize how pregnancy has such a huge effect on a womans body. The chemical & hormonal imbalances get all whacked out & take YEARS to get noticed and balanced correctly again.

I had it. I put myself in a psych ward for 6 days. and it still isn't a diagnosable condition. but it is very very real.

did you bother to look up her injuries to herself and how she is still trying to not live? her lawyers are the ones running the trial not her

it's a real thing but it doesn't ever excuse violence.

yes it's real. when you are a mother you lose all sense of self. another being relies totally on you. you often don't get time to yourself. you're not getting enough sleep. it's hard being a mom

Post partum depression is acknowledged a lot more commonly than pp psychosis. If I were to honestly look back, I’d probably call myself crazy after having twins. The hormone crash is unreal after creating two placentas and then having them surgically removed…. I should have taken the drugs the doctor recommended 🫥

Not the same, but if you watch Mr. Robot and you very quickly get the feel of being inside the mind of psychosis. We are not in the same universe as someone in psychosis. It is genuinely one of my worst fears

Did you see the meds and changes over the few months, that is also a big red flag to me, based on how psych meds have treated me in less stressful times of my life.

I just had a baby and I made sure my man knew the signs to look for! I made sure he knew who to call what to do, and to get the baby away from me if he had too. Every single man who is going to be a father should know how and when to help if/when that happens. It is so scary!

This happened when I was pregnant and I absolutely could NOT listen to anything about the case because I was so terrified of postpartum psychosis. 😩

One of my cousins had this, and she repeatedly kept trying to throw herself out of windows and needed inpatient help for quite a bit of time to get the help she needed. That being said… she still has to face consequences even if it’s like Andrea Yates.

women who have been through it understand. I could have been her, I was lucky enough to know it was postpartum and never acted on it. she needs help, I can't imagine what she's dealing with now.
