Back when she first posted, I was actually a big Carrie Cakes fan. I was living in Korea at the time and didn’t even know about the situation until she uploaded her apology video. I was shocked and honestly really upset. What stood out to me was that right after apologizing, she kept posting like nothing had happened, while you were getting flooded with hate and she was still being praised. I couldn’t understand how she seemed to move on so easily while you were dealing with the backlash. When I commented about it, she replied saying she “didn’t know” you were receiving so much hate, and then her fans starting to turn on me in that comment section. i was scared and believe delete my comment or account (i dont remember). Ithink a lot of people saw her as this sweet, harmless white girl who just reads and travels, so they couldn’t accept that what she did was actually wrong. I couldn’t keep supporting someone who didn’t truly take accountability, but mostly be part of a fandom that was so quick to excuse it just because she used the right words in an apology. i hope you are doing better Rachel, sending a lot of love ❤️

I really think she’s such a broader reflection of foreign girls that come to SK and they think they are owed some sort of entertainment fantasy relationship or they have a belief they are entitled to being famous/fame adjacent purely on the novelty of being foreign. When they do catch wind of someone having opportunities or a life they think should be theirs they absolutely lose it with jealousy taking on such extreme actions.
