even the "amplifies negative emotion" thing is added on through adaptations, Peter was really just going through it at the time and was getting darker, the suit didnt make him do it

I thought it more that Venom makes Peter more aggressive since Venom has seen Peter memories and Venom understands Peter hurt, the people he has lost, how shitty his life is, how people treat Peter compared to Spiderman and my understanding is that Venom isn’t evil but hates how Peter is treated by the world.

while the movies aren't great I think they're doing a good job at representing the suit. the problem is Sony started the symbiote in film without Spider-man. so it doesn't make this kind of sense. really interesting love it hate things have been happening with Venom for a while. yeah, i'm talking about Mary Jane.

In the comics, It doesn’t really like being a hero. It feeds on adrenaline and it particularly likes feeding on Peter Parker’s adrenaline. It’s why it has him fight while he sleeps. It’s feeding off of him.
