OLIVIA BARRETT :
As a fellow concierge nurse, exactly this. You said it perfectly. Concierge isn’t less clinical, it just removes the hospital safety net. That critical care background becomes your backbone.

Nope I disagree…. Critical care are not post nurses. Post op nurses know how to care for post surgical patients

I think a labor and delivery nurse would do good at this as well. Labor and delivery nurses circulate C-sections and recover their own patients, they do triage and labor and delivery and postpartum they do so many things they develop great assessment skills

Love this! I never know whether to consider myself critical care being in step down but there’s lots of rapids and circling the drainers 😅

would a “normal” non wealthy patient not just go home with no one looking after them besides maybe a non medical support person otherwise though?

Thank you for validating the med surg and progressive care nurses critical thinking. A med surg nurse literally saved my life because of an overnight resident not wanting to come bedside!

Why would someone post op need a concierge nurse? Is it just for added support? Or would they otherwise have a longer stay in the pacu or have to manage the drain & meds on their own at home? Basically is it a luxury service to have a nurse?

How many years of critical care did you get before you crossed over to concierge.

genuine question, how would you deal with something if they like accused you of SA. like you stay with them alone are you not scared they could just make something up and sue you?

Do you just call an ambulance if they start to become critical? Or do you have supplies and a doc on call? I’m curious

l&d was also definitely very autonomous! we did everything w the patient and pushed without the MD and just call them when the patient is ready to deliver! and we floated to OR/PACU for c sections! :)
