@freshmanbiology: Dragon prep composition notes 🏰 I recorded all the instruments shown, and also used a bunch of VSTs for this one :) • lots of parallel 5ths because powerchords sound powerful • lots of melodic minor 2nds for tension • the melody doesn’t move much because the real action hasn’t started yet, the dragon is still On my way! • ‘A’ theme in 5/4 • Rolling dotted 8th + 16th pulse for momentum, constant movement in the castle • Pauses built-in like characters reflecting on the fact that this is really happening • The pauses could also be extended for dramatic effect if this was scored to picture, or to work around dialogue • ‘B’ theme slight tempo increase and meter change to 7/8 • constant but uneven motion, like jostling through a crowd to get where you need to be #dnd #fantasy #dndtiktok #dragon #composer
