@afrikanhairgod: Replying to @usere1tvhimydd hair damage presents in everyone's hair differently, there are varying degrees of damage, and they are different types of damage. To compensate for this, there are different approaches to address all of these different components of damage because no one way is all encompassing.
I wish I lived by u because the black stylist in LA aren’t giving 😩

I love how basically everything you say I can see evidenced on my own hair in how it behaves.

My hair got damaged due to curly cuts… also the price because why are we paying 200-400 a cut… A TRIM is charged just as a regular cut. I had to cut it all off trying to fix it

I try to tell people I do not like curly cuts. Our textured curls can be deceiving.

Many stylists can’t asses damage on a blow out, it’s nice to hear u do. Bc in my brain, it takes one time with a flat iron to cause damage (hot spots, greasy irons, uneven heat protectant application) which defeats the point of smoothing the hair to be able to see the damage. Also I’ve had my hair SWELL immediately after being pressed out (bc I don’t often straighten) I’ve had stylist have a hard time even assessing my hair silked bc it starts swelling. It’s all interesting and exhausting at the same time, but I love my hair so much lol & I love the care you put into ur clients.

I put my hair in twists and cut the end of the twists. Im curious to know your opinion a that technique. I can feel at the end where the hair starts to feel scraggly. I don’t have a better word. It’s the best I can do because I live in Phoenix and I ran into 717 type stylists and I’m done with people playing in my hair. It’s healthiest when I handle things at home. I say healthy but I’m not a professional. My hair feels and looks to my liking is what I mean by healthy but I don’t know if I’m messing myself up long term
