I love her as a character. She's not interested in saving the world or being a hero she just wants to steal treasure and look good doing it. That doesn't mean she doesn't care about anyone else it just means she's got her own list of things to do and prefers doing it on her own terms, which I can respect and understand.

yes I like Rouge in both ways and I whole heartily believe she needs a solo game to help fill out her story or give her a back story and hopefully it isn't locked to one system

Honestly, Rouge has been amazing as a character. As for the comic side of things... Blame Ken Penders. Due to his lawsuit against Sega, the lawsuit really limited what can be done in the comics. No one is allowed to show too much emotion, and main characters aren't allowed to completely lose. I'm unsure if it still applies to IDW since that happened with Archie Comics when Dark Brotherhood released

yeah the sonic franchise kinda slid rouge to the backburner 9/10 times. like she's a thief/treasure hunter, and yet the only time we see anything like that was in sonic forces when she was a double agent (kinda)

In my opinion, Rouge was at her absolute best in Heroes. She had the fun loving attitude while still being somewhat snarky, she was smart, knew how to talk her way out of a bad situation...that game did her the best. Anything before Generations she was done better within the games.

another character that falls under her same problem is Jane Doe from ZZZ. shes very deep and loves honesty in her life of deception and espionage and is very genuine with specific people. but is only seen as a hot lady
