You traveled half the globe to not actually savour the best cattle in the world with just salt and pepper. You are not used to this level of fresh and quality food and judge it based on the amount of seasoning it has, when the local food culture focuses on the meat rather than spices. What you say simply shows how you overlooked the food culture based on an individual preference for spices that are not as frequent in our cuisine.
