@the_green_bird_brigade: Cora is currently living in a carrier while we build her trust and confidence. A couple of days ago, she was showing signs of wanting to come out. I decided to leave the door open to see what she would do. Cora is a 2yo parrotlet who has already had two previous homes. She lived in poor conditions and suffered severe neglect in her first home. Six months ago, she was rescued from that situation by a well meaning human, but unfortunately, he struggled to gain her trust and help her overcome her fear. So he brought her to me in hopes that I could help her have a better life. She has never trusted a human before and I plan to change that. ‼️NOTE: I never let a bird out if the cage until I know I can easily and safely get them back in WITHOUT forcing or breaking trust. Also, Cora’s wings were badly clipped in her first home and she is still missing some of her flight feathers, so she isn’t able to fly very fast, far, or high.
