@gzreel: The opening of *Hugo*, directed by Martin Scorsese, is a breathtaking long tracking shot that feels like one continuous take. It begins inside the spinning gears of a giant clock, then pulls outward into a sweeping 3D glide over 1930s Paris before weaving through the bustling Gare Montparnasse train station. Designed with VFX supervisor Rob Legato, the sequence blended practical sets, miniatures, and digital environments into a single fluid movement. The shot took close to a year to complete and required massive rendering power across roughly a thousand computers. Inspired by Scorsese's signature "Goodfellas-style" tracking shots, it visually establishes the film's core idea: the world as a vast, interconnected machine where every moving part matters. Well Martin Scorsese used AI for The Irishman and no one talks about it

AI could do it in 30 seconds because a human did it first

AI needs this scene to "create" this scene so...

Why is that a sad reality?

People who genuinely think ai can even come close to the precision of real filmmakers are coping so hard. AI will always be a cheap imitation of art.

No, AI can't actually generate this 🌹

only by using the original as example. let's see how it replicates this video without any reference or mention to it. let's see if it does it perfectly in 30 seconds, with no aberrations

Is it sad though if it means a small film maker with no connections in Hollywood can now make their imaginations real?

AI will never be able to provide an artistic direction like a human does. It would fall apart the moment you look at the little details, one of the most important parts of art.

Fun Fact: AI couldnt have done this without humans doing it first. AI is no intelligent. Just a bunch of algorithms that collect bits and rearrange them based on a prompt.

Why is it sad? That’s great, we are more efficient now.

yeah, but you'd need a team of editors to spend time going through and checking how many fingers the characters have and then trying a new prompt a bunch of times. And even then it's just be AI slop.

The evolution of cinema and film making. When the day comes when a 90 minute movie can be created at a touch of a button and receive high ratings on IMBD and Rotten Tomatoes will be the end of human involvement. Everyone will have to visit theatres to see real actors or watch live shows on the box.

Well it actually couldn’t lol because you can’t be specific enough to direct something exactly the way you want it
