I don’t care how good a man looks ultimately my 1st daughter”s father was thoughtful and that’s romantic too me he would surprise me with gifts for no reason and when I asked he always delivered. He also had a controlling mean side that I would never get use to because I wasn’t raised around a man who raised his voice and became disrespectful when he didn’t get his way . Disrespect can come in all types of form from manipulation.. being emotionally unavailable, ignoring , not hearing or listening.. ….. ultimately you gotta ask yourself can I be with or get use to a person treating me in a unsettling way or in a way that I’m not use to

Once I see a pattern of a man not seeing listening or hearing me I’m out why receive the bare minimum if your use to receiving abundance.. I’m not receiving tough love from nobody it doesn’t benefit me but if I was to stay with a man who displays tough love it’ll condition me to accept that treatment…it’s all in what you’re willing to accept if his wife loves it I love that for her🤷🏾♀️. Love and romance looks different to everyone 🤷🏾♀️

I don’t compare myself to others what one receives as romantic another my not.. I was raised off of love and care..I saw many sides of my father( loving, caring, stern, witty, funny) . He always treated me kind and showed me love by always being there never ignoring me catering to my needs and wants never crumb feeding me or giving me the bare minimum. My father always delivered my needs . He instilled in me and told me if a man can’t treat you like I treat you or better or the way you want to be treated don’t settle for less and I received that at an early age. Not only that he taught me to take care of myself and to treat people like you want to be treated until they show you different and that looks like me being kind to a man and him in turn being kind to me. It looks like me expressing my needs and wants and when he won’t deliver or can’t deliver be ok with bowing out gracefully because every man is not capable of loving and treating you the way you want and deserve to be treated. I was raised seeing a thoughtful man who delivered , listened and comprehend . Food and clothes are bare minimum things that are a given 😐 true every man is not romantic. But I expect my needs and wants to be met when I voice them because I’m use to being listened , heard and cared for. I was taught to love myself the way I was loved and not to settle for less than what I can give myself.
