I use Zurich Ireland currently to invest. Though living in Australia the last few years. Was planning on transferring it all out when it’s been in there about 6yrs so I avoid any tax and put it in my aussie bank acc for life here.

Deferred tax with the pensions. Still worth it, but you will pay tax when drawing down the pension.

just because it benefits the households with more cash doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing tbf, an ISA up to 20k benefits middle class not just the wealthy

Hi, I’ve been looking at investing and had discussions with Cornmarket…. While there advice made sense to a younger person. I am 60 and found that charges on maintenance and tax did not make me much better off that A Post 10y savings at 2%. Your opinion please

"Irish people are terrible at investing"!! No wonder, with the hostile tax take: ridiculously low allowances, high product fees, no tiered CGT, no time-outs on investments held for a long time (both available elsewhere), and deemed disposal. Add to that people burning their fingers on single-company shares (looking at you, Eircon) and we can reasonably comlnclude that the small investor had little chance to be successful - yet?

The only way to invest in Ireland is pension or property or to reduce your tax burden
