Years ago, those swipe fees were hidden in the cost. When I had a small business, I paid the fee, the consumer was never involved. Today, in some cases, fees are added to the purchase at the point of sale.

don't swipe so you don't pay. they charge the fee because they can. if people don't pay, the price will go down. it's a free market
