celebrating Newroz would get you executed under saddam in iraq, and during the pahlavi there were government troops in kurdish cities that would beat people with sticks if they spoke kurdish(same in turkey at the time), recently hundreds of thousands of Kurds were displaced by the syrian government from Alleppi/Helep into deeper kurdish areas making alleppo fully arabic for the first time in history, iraqi soldiers harrass kurdish families in their houses in villages and cities in todays iraq, when someone is executed in iran they put kurdish clothing on them to disrespect kurds, Kurds are still oppressed
